Below, we have featured some artists who have been supported by Where Every Child is a Star, Inc.

Ginett Fernandez

Ginett Fernandez

Currently 20 years of age, Ginett Fernandez is a full lyric soprano in the process of finishing her Bachelor’s Degree for Voice Performance in opera at the New World School of the Arts College. There she has performed in operas such as Cosi Fan Tutte and Amelia Goes to the Ball, and studies privately in the studio of Rodney N. Miller. Previously, she attended Coral Reef Senior High School, graduating in the year 2007. During her years there, she managed to attain secondary roles in school productions of Dido and Aeneas, The Mikado and The Pirates of Penzance. Other outside achievements include a scholarship program with Florida Grand Opera during the debut of Anna Karenina.

Gizel Jimenez

Gizel Jimenez

Gizel Jimenez is an alumni of Coral Reef Senior High School in Miami, Florida. While at Coral Reef, Gizel participated actively in the school’s choir program and lent her talents to the school’s opera productions. Now a junior at New World School of the Arts College, Gizel is studying for her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre. Gizel has performed in many shows including Blood Wedding, Titanic, and A Little Night Music. In addition to working as a full time student, Gizel is also an artist/singer/song writer under the production company Liquid Sheid. She is managed by John Figueroa.

Madeliene Morrow

Madeliene Morrow

At just 9 years old, Madeleine Morrow is one of our youngest stars. She has participated in the Rose Summer Camp for the past several years, and is constantly growing as a musician. Madeleine often performs at her church, and has sang at Where Every Child Is A Star benefits. And not only is Madeleine a star performer, but she is also a composer. When the Young American’s visited Miami and put on a 3-day workshop, Madeleine was selected (as 1 of 2 out of hundreds of students) to perform an original song onstage with the Young Americans. Madeleine currently attends Perrine Expressive Arts, where she is a student in the magnet dance and chorus program.

Leia Schwartz

Leia Schwartz

At 14 years of age, Leia Schwartz has gone through more than many adults will go through in a lifetime. Leia has had severe asthma all her life and must frequently spend days at a time in the hospital. Nevertheless, Leia still manages to perform at WECIAS benefits and events, in addition to competing in the Florida Federation of Music Clubs’ District Festival where she consistently earns top marks. Leia currently attends Coral Reef Senior High School and is a member of the school’s chorus magnet. Leia has received national recognition for an original song she wrote about environmental awareness, and has been selected to perform for the Miss Earth Florida Pageant.
